The Clear Creek Amana Community School District announces the September 2025 Students and Staff of the Month Honorees.

This program recognizes one student and one staff member each month from an elementary school, the middle school, and the high school for exceeding expectations.

Levi Emrick is the Elementary Student of the Month. He attends East Ridge Elementary.

Ashley Keller nominated Levi, writing, "Levi joined the CCA district during his 2nd grade year, and in the short time he has been with us, he has consistently demonstrated an exceptional work ethic. He is highly motivated and continually strives to reach his full potential.

When I think of the mission of the Clear Creek Amana Community School District—to prepare students to be productive, responsible community members by providing an environment that brings learning to life—Levi truly embodies those characteristics.

Last year, Levi served as a peer link in Oak Hill’s Kindness Club. He showed up every day, fully engaged, and consistently modeled kindness and expected behaviors both within the group and throughout the school community. Whether he was sewing heart pillows and delivering them to the University of Iowa’s Cardiac Unit, socializing with residents at Windmill Manor, or helping plan kindness activities for the staff and students of OHE, Levi represented the Clipper Way with pride and purpose.

I believe Levi is truly deserving of this award. Despite the challenges of moving out of state and transitioning first into Tiffin Elementary and then to Oak Hill Elementary, Levi has adapted to each new environment with resilience and grace. Throughout it all, he continues to radiate kindness and respect, all while maintaining a strong commitment to academic excellence. I could not be more proud of him."

Mathias Johnson is the CCA Middle School Student of the Month.

Mikkel Brown and Brad Fox nominated Mathias, writing, "Mathias has done and absolute terrific job as a member of our Peer to Peer Team! He's been great working with other students in our school!  Mathias has shown kindness by helping others that just need a little extra help or support. He's been a good friend to some of our kiddos that need a friend the most. Mathias is a great leader in our middle school and leads by example!"

Isabella DiLorenzo is the CCA High School Student of the Month.

Jesse DiLorenzo nominated Isabella, writing, "She loves to try everything new. All she wants from people are smiles, hugs, and high fives! Every student should strive to make everyone else's day better through positive interactions."

Maggie Fields is the Elementary Staff of the Month. Maggie is a Teacher at Oak Hill Elementary.

Krystin Gist nominated Maggie, writing, "Maggie takes the time to make sure all the associates working under her are thriving along with the kids in her class. She checks in with other staff members to make sure they are always in the know. She goes out of her way to show kindness and respect towards all. Even in times of high stress she manages to keep the room flowing smoothly and calmly. She is always on top of things and is ready to jump in at any moment.

She lends an ear to those who need it, she always keep a cheery personality even through the rough moments. She takes the time to check in with everyone. She is blunt in a very respectful way and makes sure you understand what's going on, what she needs from you, and how to do it. In all honesty she is one of the best additions in CCA and I believe she will go far with her amazing work ethic and friendly demeanor."

Brendan Rodatz is the Middle School Staff of the Month. Brendan is a 1/2 time Associate and 1/2 time Elective Teacher.

Debra Sage nominated Brendan, writing, "Brendan reaches out to other teachers to see what students are learning so he can design his lesson plans to support that student learning.  It is an extension of the classroom.  He is creative in how he can incorporate different activities and guide students in developing their critical thinking skills.

Brendan is enthusiastic and has a positive attitude.  He builds relationships with students, tries to talk with everyone at least once during class, and makes learning fun.  His energetic nature and fast smile helps to set up a positive classroom environment."

Alyssa Amelon is the High School Staff of the Month. Alyssa is a Teacher and advises FFA, NHS along with student internships & job shadows.

Laurel Keenan nominated Alyssa, writing, "Alyssa consistently goes above and beyond through her work in the classroom and her advisement of extracurricular activities, including FFA, NHS, and job shadows & internships. She is at school early and stays late to make sure students have all of the support that they need. Through everything that she does, she ensures that it is a strong reflection of her work, her students work, and CCA school district.

Alyssa is an exemplary model of good character and kindness through her ability to support her coworkers in all situations. As a new adviser to a CTSO, Alyssa made sure that I had all of the support I needed to establish a strong program at CCA. She not only supports me, but is always willing to lend a helping hand for everyone who needs assistance.

Alyssa models good character to her students and coworkers every single day through her actions and words. While it might be easy to cut corners or give up when frustrated, Alyssa is diligent in her work and ensures that it is always a strong reflection of the CCA community school district values. CCA is truly fortunate to have role models for students and staff like Alyssa."

Mary Lou Grimm also nominated Alyssa, writing, "Alyssa is always invested and dedicated to her students in both the AG and FFA Programs not only during the school day but before and after school too! Her students are dedicated to the program because of her extra effort and time she puts into her work. She goes above and beyond and it shows in her students in so many ways!

She gives confirmation feedback that is positive and encouraging and she is respectful towards her students."
